COATINGS - Everything you need to know (and nothing you don't...almost)
Water Spot
  Remover
While MIYABI COAT may be listed as the mainstream glass coating offering from KAMIKAZE, it would be considered the high-end offering from other manufacturers! The low molecular Silane is non-solvent and VOC free. This product is the "Top of the line" in sealant protection.

With this new formula, it is more resistant to water spotting than traditional glass coatings.

MIYABI COAT offers a harder, and more brilliant shine. Durability with proper application is expected at 18-24 months.

Water repellency is great by itself, but for those wanting the most insane water beading characteristics, we recommend maintaining MIYABI GLASS COAT with OVER COAT four times a year (Quarterly).

ONE LAYER $499, TWO LAYERS $599, THREE LAYERS $699 (pricing does not inc. surface prep buffing or polishing if needed)

On rare occasions a product is introduced to the detailing world that really stands apart from everything else, or establishes an entirely new category. This is exactly what KAMIKAZE did when they introduced OVER COAT…The Ultimate Sacrificial layer Coating!

OVER COAT is designed to be applied over the durable MIYABI COAT, as well as other brands of glass, ceramic, or polymer coatings. OVER COAT will take the abuse of the elements, while protecting the under layer.  You can maintain your coated vehicle every QUARTER with our V.I.G. plan!
(durability however is listed as 3-6 months).

OVER COAT has some of the most insane hydrophobic / water beading properties available! It can be used on paint, glass, plastic trim, or rims.

The water based formula is non-solvent, VOC free, non-wax, non-PTFE, and non-polymer. A truly unique product indeed.

So given the fact that OVER COAT can be applied wet or dry, it is designed as a sacrificial layer for ALL types of coatings, it can be used on most areas of the car, and is capable of light defect filling, and has crazy water beading characteristics…this is the #1 seller in the Kamikaze line!

QUARTERLY MAINT AVAILABLE WITH OUR V.I.G PLAN, $79 FOR CARS & $109 FOR EVERYTHING ELSE
Miyabi Glass Coat
Finally…a good water spot remover designed for use with coatings that won’t damage them in the process! There are other manufacturers with water spot removers for coatings, but they have heavy cleaners and surfactants that damage the underlying coating layer.

The non-hazardous material is a very easy way to effectively remove new water spots, all in a safe manner.

If the water spots have been in place for a very long time, then chances are they have actually etched into the clear coat surface (like bird droppings). When this happens, only heavy compounding will remove or minimize them.

But if water spots are relatively new, the WATER SPOT REMOVER by KAMIKAZE will easily remove them. It can be used for either coated, or non-coated vehicles.

MAINT AVAILABLE DURING YOUR V.I.G  VISIT (OR YOU CAN REQUEST TO ORDER A BOTTLE FOR $34.95)

*Both WATER SPOT REMOVER and OVER COAT are highly recommended for those with coated vehicles!
The Technical Details
When people think of glass, they usually think of the transparent materials found as windows in buildings and cars. However, strictly speaking the term glass describes a state of matter where the particles within a material are randomly arranged. The definition of glass given by the ASTM (American Society of the International Association for Testing and Materials) which describes glass as an “inorganic, amorphous, product of a rapidly cooled melt”. By this definition, rapidly-cooled metals can also be said to be glassy. Hence, terms such as glassy, amorphous and vitreous tend to describe a material with randomly-arranged atomic structure. Did that bore you? We almost fell asleep
The Really Technical Details
There are some structural differences between glass and ceramic on an atomic scale, even though they can have exactly the same composition. For example, silica glass has the same composition as quartz (crystallized silica). However, in glass, the atoms are arranged dynamically; whereas silica crystals have a very ordered structure. It is possible to turn a glass into a ceramic; by heating it up. This allows rearrangement from a random to an ordered structure and an ordered structure is more stable than a disordered one.
So How Are They The Same?
While each Paint Protection Coating has its own characteristics, there are many similarities that can be applied across the board regardless of brand. Glass Coatings and Ceramic Coatings are the latest and most revolutionary way to protect the paint on your vehicle. Through the use of nanotechnology, these coatings bind to the surface creating an extremely durable and protective layer. These coatings separate your vehicle’s paint from the harsh elements of the environment. Both types of coating actually bond to your paintwork so they cannot be removed by ordinary means, for example, washing your car.
So Which Coating Should I Choose?
In Ceramic Coating, its compounds protect your car against weather, bird droppings, scratches, dust, spills and other things that ordinary wax usually cannot fix, as well has having a durability that lasts for 4-6 months. A ceramic-coating process required heating in order to make sure the bonding is complete. It is in fact a 1970's technology.
In Glass Coating, it bonds to your vehicle’s paint on a molecular level almost immediately upon application. This ensures that the car’s paint remains insulated against chemical attacks from all forms of environmental pollutants including the aforementioned and it's extreme length of durability (up to Two Years!)

*Contrary to marketing myth, all coatings have a life span and eventually need to be reapplied. The right way to ensure the lasting effect is to engage professional detailer who possess in-depth technical know how to treat your vehicle right.
